Dual Fuel Smart Meter Installer

Safely install, exchange and maintain smart meters, explaining to customers how they work and how to use energy more efficiently.

Overview

Dual fuel smart meter installation forms a key part of the Government mandate to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy management.

As an installer, you’re responsible for the safe installation, exchange, commission, decommission and ongoing maintenance of smart metering systems and associated equipment and communication systems.

You’ll also need to provide an explanation of how smart meters work, as well as providing up-to-date energy efficiency advice to the customer.

It’s a role that’s physical in nature, and may involve lifting and moving of equipment, and working at height and in confined spaces. You’ll carry out a high level of safety-critical activities while working in customer properties.

  2. Explain to the customer how to read the meter and how to get the most from it
