Overview
As a Controls Engineer, you will control a building’s services, such as heating, air conditioning, lighting and ventilation. You may also write related software and graphics as well as installing and commissioning such systems.
You’ll certainly need to be tech-savvy as another key part of the role is integrating these systems with the building’s other systems, such as security to create a ‘smart building’.
You could be working across a range of commercial building environments including hospitals, student accommodation, offices or even a theatre and once that building is occupied, you’re likely to be involved in the ongoing service and maintenance of the systems.
