Set people up on Information Technology (IT) systems, provide support and solve problems to help organisations run smoothly.

Overview

As an Infrastructure Technician, you’ll provide support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technology to do their own jobs.

You’ll set people up on systems and provide support when they need it, rectify issues to maintain the organisation’s productivity.

Problem solving is key to this role, so you’ll develop the ability to apply structured techniques to common and non-routine problems, testing methodologies, and troubleshooting and analysing problems by selecting the appropriate digital tools.

Qualifications

There are no set requirements for this role, but employers will usually look favourably if you have completed a college course or an apprenticeship. Often you’ll need to have achieved GCSEs, especially in maths, IT and English.
