Fencing Installer

Fit fences, gates and barriers across a range of different environments.

Overview

You’ll be responsible for the installation of different types of fencing across a broad range of sites from domestic and agricultural, through to commercial, industrial, high security and infrastructure, such as highways, rail and utilities.

Many premises are required by law to have appropriate fences, these include zoos, military areas and industrial plants, and it’ll be your job to install them.

The main areas within the fencing industry are:

  • General fencing
  • Perimeter security systems
  • Vehicle restraint systems
  • Gates, doors and barriers

You’ll need to work to detailed specifications and standards to ensure correct and safe installation. You’ll also have to prepare the sites, select relevant materials to carry out installation and carry out repairs and maintenance work.

You’re likely to be working outside in all weathers and you’ll be using a wide range of materials, tools and machinery.
