Overview

A Fall Protection Technician can be found across multiple environments and sectors. 

One thing for sure, you’ll have a head for heights and you can be urban or rural, within buildings or outdoors.

As well as working in teams, you’ll need to be comfortable working alone and will be solely accountable for the work you carry out.

Your main priority is to undertake safety critical work, installing products designed to keep others (maintenance, industrial commercial and cleaning staff and access specialists) safe from injury due to fall hazards in the future.

Salary

Role in its new, but could reach around £30,000 a year.

The fall protection sector is made up of 150-200 companies ranging from small regional operations to major manufacturers. It operates across all sectors, energy, infrastructure, commercial, industrial, entertainment, retail and agricultural.

Qualifications

This is a newly-developed role. However, you should need five GCSEs or equivalent, including English and maths.

You will definitely need health and safety accreditation to progress.
