Digital Community Manager

Act as the bridge between a brand and their online community.

Overview

The Digital Community Manager is the ambassador for a brand. You’ll primarily work across an organisation’s social media platforms to engage with potential customers and build relationships with existing ones.

Digital community management is about listening to what members are saying online and using this to shape future messages. The role is basically digital networking – so you’ll need excellent people skills.

You’ll work closely with the Social Media Manager, and while some parts of your roles will overlap, there are distinct difference between the two.

While the Social Media Manager focuses on content creation, the Digital Community Manager dedicates their time on facilitating conversations between an organisation and the digital community.

You’re effectively the eyes and ears of an organisation, and with multiple platforms to monitor, you’ll need to keep on top of how communities are responding in real-time, using analytics tools to measure things like reach, traffic and engagement.
